KAOTEON is a product of war and turmoil. They are one of the first SWANA metal bands to export their sound to European, North American and Russia. Their demo ‘Provenance of Hatred’ 2003 was released thru ‘Unsung Heroes Records’ USA & ‘Ketzer records’ Russia. The band founder lived in a bomb shelter from birth to 7 years and just like his countrymen struggled with Zionist & Syrian occupations until 2000 & 2005 respectively. In 2006, war broke out again with Israel which was the breaking point for the band to do their best to relocate & in 2012 they succeeded. KAOTEON only album released from Lebanon is ‘Veni Vidi Vomui’ 2011 thru ‘Osmose Productions’.
With a new land came new challenges, from work permits to finding adequate members that could keep the flame of underground metal burning. In 2018, Anthony moves to the Netherlands and recruits the drummer of the black metal band Marduk at the time, to record the sessions for their 2nd full length as well as bassist Linus Klausenitzer who already worked with Anthony on his side project Death Tribe. Metal Hammer awarded the album ‘Damnatio Memoriae’ with Golden God award in 2019. In 2020, Adrian Erlandsson from At The Gates joined the band on drums and released the self titled album Kaoteon which gained a lot of international attention. The follow up album ‘Neither God Nor Master’ was #8 best black metal album of the year 2022 for Metal Hammer and Decibel named it one of the best albums released in the year. Decrepitude was released with Jo Quail in 2023 before the war after which Anthony was disappointed with the Metal scene silence and complicity ever since the brutal Genocide on Palestine and Death Trap was released in 2024 for the plight of Palestinian and Lebanese people.
