WMB Voorronde Overijssel – Tenuem

Meer deathcore! Tenuem speelt blackened deathcore, en hun liveoptreden bracht hen de overwinning in de Metal Battle Voorronde in Overijssel. Als je deze band live wilt zien, kan dat, want aanstaande zaterdag zullen ze spelen op Bredius Brutality samen met Reformist en Canyon Literature (die ook in de voorrondes stond). We stelden de band wat vragen om ze beter te leren kennen voor de halve finales!

Gefeliciteerd met jullie winst! Hoe voelt dat? 

Dankjewel! Ja.. het voelt echt geweldig. We speelden namelijk met zulke goede bands!

Maar het voelt heel erg goed, we hebben er keihard voor gewerkt.

Voor degene die jullie nog niet kennen: wie zijn jullie en wat doen jullie? 

Wij zijn Tenuem en wij komen om het publiek helemaal los te krijgen. We brengen melodieën, breakdowns en blastbeats om de tent af te breken!

Blackened Melodic Deathcore … een hele mond vol maar je moet ergens een genre op plakken. Ik hoor inderdaad de black- en deathcore invloeden duidelijk terug in de twee tracks die op Spotify staan. Wie zijn jullie inspiratiebronnen?  

Onze grootste inspiratiebronnen zijn bands als As Blood Runs Black, The Black Dahlia Murder, Winds of Plague en Lorna Shore. Daar geven we dan onze eigen draai aan door bombastische orkesten toe te voegen.

Was Hedon een van jullie grotere optredens of zijn jullie gewend om al op grotere podia te staan? (En hoe was het om daar te spelen?)

Hedon was slechts ons derde optreden. Het was echt super tof om dan jouw sound compleet tot zijn recht te laten komen! Hier kunnen wij wel aan wennen.

Welke band uit de voorrondes heef jullie het meest verrast? 

Canyon literature vonden wij echt geweldig, daar mogen wij gelukkig nog mee optreden om de Bredius in Woerden te slopen.

Wat kunnen we van jullie verwachten tijdens de halve finale?

Een flinke bak aan geweld, energie en een epische sound. Ik zou zeggen tot in Groningen!

More deathcore! Tenuem play blackened deathcore, and their live performance got them to win the Metal Battle Preliminary in Overijssel. If you want to see this band live, you can, because this saturday they will play Bredius Brutality with Reformist and Canyon Literature (who was also in the preliminaries). We asked the band some questions to get to know them better before the semi-finals! 

Congratulations on your win! How does it feel?

Thank you! Yeah… it feels really amazing. We played with such great bands! But it feels very good, we’ve worked really hard for it.

For those who don’t know you: who are you and what do you do?

We are Tenuem and we come to get the crowd completely wild. We bring melodies, breakdowns, and blast beats to tear down the house!

Blackened Melodic Deathcore… quite a mouthful but you have to label it somehow. I indeed hear the black and deathcore influences clearly in the two tracks on Spotify. Who are your inspirations?

Our biggest inspirations are bands like As Blood Runs Black, The Black Dahlia Murder, Winds of Plague, and Lorna Shore. We then put our own twist on it by adding bombastic orchestras.

Was Hedon one of your bigger gigs or are you used to playing on larger stages? (And how was it to play there?)

Hedon was only our third gig. It was really awesome to let your sound come into its own completely! We could get used to this.

Which band from the preliminaries surprised you the most?

We really loved Canyon Literature, luckily we still get to perform with them to wreck Bredius in Woerden.

What can we expect from you during the semi-final?

A lot of violence, energy, and an epic sound. I would say see you in Groningen!
